This kitchen was in desperate need of counter space! We reconfigured the entry from the back porch, moved the appliances, removed an old, unused chimney and removed a portion of the wall between the dining room and the kitchen. The finished project is much more open and functional...not to mention, very beautiful!!

Instead of building a new home away from their lake, this customer decided to remodel the entire house, adding more living space to their existing home. Our customer was able to keep their beautiful views by expanding their horizons!

The photos below show the old kitchen and dining room being demo'd. The new kitchen is much larger,
brighter and open than the original! Since our customers were living in the home during the remodeling process,
we took great care to ensure the demolition debris and dust would be retained in the work area, not spread
throughout the rest of their beautiful home.

This project included an addition onto the kitchen of our
customers' home. The layout of the new kitchen is much more functional,
giving the homeowners a large island to work at.

Placing the range into the corner created a better traffic flow, We removed the refrigerator from a "hole-in-the-wall,"
and the elevated cabinet created a nice focal point! and replaced it with a built-in pantry with roll-out shelves.
The new addition created more space for the dining area, By moving the doorway between the family room and
and allowed the space needed to create a large island the kitchen, the cook can prepare a gourmet meal
where the children could sit while dinner is being prepared. unhindered by guests!

This customer wanted to update" their flooring by eliminating the berber carpet in
the dining and family rooms, installing new plush carpet in the family and living rooms,
and installing new vinyl flooring in the kitchen. Their half-bath was in need of remodeling, as well. They wanted to remove an old shower stall, install a new vanity and update the electrical wiring and fixtures. Our customers did not have to call a contractor, a plumber, an electrician, a framer, a drywaller or a painter. They placed one call to
Starr Construction and we completed the entire project.
The original layout was small, cramped and didn't offer any counter or storage space.
The new layout is much more open. We installed a new ADA compliant faucet and stool. The new Corian
countertop offers much needed counter space, and the new Merillat vanity had solid oak doors and drawer
fronts with solid maple drawer boxes for additional storage.
By choosing Earthscapes vinyl flooring, our customer received the tile look with an
easy to maintain finish (no grout to scrub!). Earthscapes is a very thick material,
guaranteed to withstand the everyday exposure to a busy family, and even their dog!

As you can see, we helped the homeowner to not only update their kitchen,
but also improve the traffic flow from the kitchen into the Great Room.

widen doorways, remove the bulkheads and repair the ceiling, move appliance
locations, rework the electrical and plumbing connections, install new flooring,
and finally, ceramic and glass tiles on the backsplash area; these are only a few of
the ideas we can incorporate into your newly remodeled kitchen.

We are seeing a trend in bold and bright colors for paint.

color helped to bring the whole project together.
The proper amount of lighting can either make or break a beautiful kitchen. In this
customer's home, we not only remodeled the kitchen, we added several recessed "can"
lights and under cabinet "task" lights.
